We Love Typography is a simple and clever website dedicated to all things type, with images, video and text submitted by a small group of contributors. The dedicated group of contributors makes the site a great source of inspiration for designers looking for amazing use of type.
The Content
The images and video on We Love Typography are consistently impressive and always eclectic. From vintage circus postcards to pickle packaging to hand drawn lettering on a banana, you never know what will pop up on “WLT.” While so many sites today are focused on unlimited user contributions, the fact that WLT is limited to invite-only contributors keeps the quality high and content accurate to the goals of the site. All content is accompanied with its source, flickr member (if applicable) and any number of tags that allow the visitor to see similar typographic images and video.
The Contributors
There are currently approximately 20 contributors on WLT, including graphic designers and type designers. You can view the collections of each contributor, subscribe to their WLT RSS feed, and learn more about them through links to their twitter pages, websites and blogs. Aside from WLT being an addictive site to browse, you can spend plenty of time reading up on the contributors and their work.
Submitting Images
While the contributors post most of the WLT content, any visitor can submit an image, but it is on a suggestion basis and must be approved before going live, also keeping the site standards high. It’s great to see a site dedicated to a high level of quality through membership and screening of what is posted, but also one that helps encourage great design and community.
