New Type York is a website dedicated to the use of typography in New York City. The site itself has a nice, clean design, making it easy to browse the photos of signage around the city. Featured type includes vintage neon signs, hand-lettered grocery store specials, and the often talked about subway lettering. The photoblog is curated by James Patrick Gibson, a designer based in New York City. You can keep up with the latest posts via Twitter.
I talked to James, and he told me future plans for the site include a redesign, user submissions, faster performance, and possibly geo-tagging the photos so we know exactly where the signs are in the big city.

This is such a great idea, I have always been attracted to the old signage panted on the side of old buildings in new york.
There is so much history in these buildings and you can see these great forms of art peeking through the wear and tear of years.
