"Words Hurt Too" Campaign Posters

Thursday June 4, 2009
I was really impressed with the use of type on these "words hurt too" campaign posters. They deliver a powerful message that "any kind of violence is a crime" and do so with strong imagery and great typography.

Those posters are really effective and are very well done. They also carry a very important message.
I also think that it’s great that they are in print format. Lately, there has been too much of an over emphasis on the internet and other technological ways to get the message across. It’s important that good, old-fashioned print isn’t abandoned. We recently started a print campaign and have been working with a great print company (http://www.digitallizard.com/graphic-designer.php) that makes excellent use of technology in the printing process.

I agree. I think it could have been even more powerful if the designer used type as the bruises… so where the dark lines and dried blood is would actually be very small type maybe spelling out examples of hurtful words… just an idea I had.

Hi Bria… if you look closely, that’s exactly what the designer did… the bruises are actually tiny type. Thanks for the comment though (good to see you’re on the right track!) and for everyone else’s thoughts…
