Ads in Motion, and Underground

Monday November 17, 2008
I've seen plenty of ads IN subway cars, but frankly it seems commuters are almost trained to ignore them at this point. This is why this ad on the outside of this uptown 3 train immediately caught my attention. The ad itself is fairly simple, as it should be for something you'll only have a few seconds to glance at, but effective. It's of course especially fitting considering it's advertising a show about "Cities of the Underworld," which the New York subway system certainly is. It even got me to TiVo the show that night.

It’s not surprising with ads popping up on city buses, and in some cities, ads are showing up on school buses even! It makes sense to put an ad somewhere that people who are waiting will be looking. Anymore, any form of transportation has ad placement potential – all vehicles are like moving billboards!
